Cross Country and Mountain Runs: It is a country run that is run on muddy ground from time to time on open ground. Cross country, as a very common discipline, is a branch that distancers often participate in. Mountain running is the version of cross country with a distance of up to 10 kilometers and an altitude of more than 300 meters. The track of mountain running is much more rugged than cross country racing.

Throws are divided into four: shot put, javelin throw, hammer throw and discus throw.

Shot Put: The weight is 7.26 kg for large males, 4 kg for large and young females, 6 kg for u20 males, 5 kg for u18 males, and 3 kg for u18 females.

Javelin Throwing: Weight is 800 gr in big males and u20 males, (260-270 cm), 700 g in u18 males, 600 g in large females (220-230cm) and 500 g in u18 category.

Hammer Throwing: Weight measures are the same as the shot put.

Throwing Discus: Weight is 2 kg for large males, 1.75 kg for u20 males, 1.5 kg for u18 males, and 1 kg for females.

Jumps: They are divided into 4 as long jump, 3-step jump, high jump and pole vault.

Long Jump: In the long jump, the athlete accelerates from a distance of approximately 30-45 meters and presses a 30 cm wide stepping board to make the jump. The 20 cm white part of the board is the pressure area, and the 10 cm area is red. Pressing the red area is a foul.

3-Step Jump: 3-step jump is a branch of athletics that is competed on the long jump track. It is necessary to be able to accelerate sufficiently and to jump as far as possible from the 10-centimeter springboard. The triple jump, as the name suggests, has three phases. The first step that the athlete falls on the foot he rises; the second step and the jump, in which he shifts his weight to the other foot.

High Jump: The high jump is a branch of athletics. After gaining speed by running, it is done by jumping over the lath between two sturdy upright stands. The principle in this jump is that the body passes over the bar without dropping it. The length of the acceleration area used as a jumping area, which is semicircular with the starting point, cannot be less than 15 m. The bench is made of hard and rigid wood or metal. The distance between them is 3.66 - 4.02 m. The ends of the jumper can be square, triangular or round. Its weight cannot exceed 2 kg. At the beginning of the materials used, we can count shoes with plastic and rubber spikes to protect the heel. The thickness of the heel cannot exceed 6 mm, and the thickness of the sole cannot exceed 13 mm. Before jumping, it must be run in order to gain speed. The jumper performs the approach run of 7 to 11 steps with an accelerating running pace at an angle of 30-40 degrees.

Pole Jump: Pole vault is a branch of athletics based on jumping with a pole over a horizontal bar. It is done by running from a track that is 45 meters long to the jumping point. Athletes use fiberglass poles with a length of 5 meters, a weight of 2 kg, with fiberglass.

In indoor races, the men's multiple race is also called heptathlon. But there the branches are different. Women do pentathlon in the hall (5 RACES)

Heptathlon in the Indoor: Outdoor athletics leaves its place to the heptathlon in indoor athletics. Races covered: 60 meters run, 60 meters steeplechase, high jump, pole vault, long jump, shot put, 1000 meters run

Pentathlon: Today, pentathlon is an olympic sport, which is held as swimming (200 m freestyle), shooting, equestrian, fencing, and 3000 m cross-country races.

Pentathlon in the Indoor: The women's heptathlon in outdoor athletics leaves its place to the pentathlon in indoor athletics. Races covered: 60 meters steeplechase, high jump, shot put, long jump, 800 meters run.

Modern Pentathlon: The modern pentathlon is a sporting event that includes 5 races in the same day consisting of shooting, epee fencing, freestyle swimming, horse riding and a 3km run.

Triathlon: Triathlon is a sport in which three branches are performed together. These branches are swimming, cycling, and running one after the other. It is an individual sport, and as soon as the athlete finishes the distance of each branch, he enters the change area and starts the other branch, on the condition of complying with certain rules, in order to wear his clothes in accordance with the rules.

Duathlon: Duathlon is a sport that includes two sports. The sports it includes are running and cycling. Duathlon Olympic distances are 10 kilometers running, 40 kilometers cycling and 5 kilometers running. Draft is free, including elites. These distances can be shortened in sprint races. Sprint distances are made as 5 kilometers running, 20 kilometers cycling and 2.5 kilometers running. Duathlon racing rules in Turkey are determined by the Turkish Triathlon Federation.
